School Chaplain

This includes leading worship and provision of pastoral care and coordinating the program of RAVE within the School. Suitable candidates will hold a current VIT registration or be willing to apply for permission to teach (non-teaching applicants).  The Chaplain is also invited to take an active role in the Cathedral Parish.Key responsibilitiesPastoral Care:Being available to support students, staff and School community at times of needPro-active individual or group work with students deemed ‘at risk’To be familiar with the Critical Incident Policy and other policies that may directly require the immediate support of the ChaplainEducation:Teaching of RAVE classes across the School The Chaplain would be involved in the development of the curriculum and delivery of lessons.Worship:Prayers at morning briefing and other gatheringsInclusion of brief act of Worship in AssembliesOrganisation of weekly Chapel services and other occasional services (eg. School Chaplain

Key responsibilities

  • Pro-active individual or group work with students deemed ‘at risk’

Education:

  • Teaching of RAVE classes across the School 
  • The Chaplain would be involved in the development of the curriculum and delivery of lessons.

Worship:

  • Inclusion of brief act of Worship in Assemblies
  • Organisation of weekly Chapel services and other occasional services (eg. Commemoration)
  • Assisting with the Eucharist schedule
  • A contribution to school publications
  • Other services as requested by the School community
  • Recommending to the Head of Garnsey students suitable for Chapel Student Leadership positions
